Nursing Informatics Community: Committee, Task Force & Workgroups

HIMSS Annual Call for Committee Applications opens January 2, 2012 through March 2, 2012.

Community Purpose:  The HIMSS Nursing Informatics Community was founded in 2003 in response to the increased recognition of the role of the informatics nurse professional in healthcare information and management systems. This effort was intended to build a community within the HIMSS membership for those individuals with a role in nursing informatics. Its purpose is to articulate a cohesive voice for the HIMSS Nursing Informatics community and to provide domain expertise, leadership and guidance to HIMSS activities, initiatives, and collaborations with the global nursing informatics community. Community Structure & Committee: The community is lead by the HIMSS Nursing Informatics Committee which is charged with providing domain expertise, leadership and guidance to HIMSS activities, initiatives and collaborations within the specialty of nursing informatics.

Task Force: The community is supported by the HIMSS Nursing Informatics Task Force which serves as the forum for empowering leaders in the nursing informatics field.  Its purpose is to create opportunities to collaborate and partner with other nursing informatics professionals, provide education on nursing informatics, articulate a cohesive voice for the field of nursing informatics and build a nursing informatics knowledge base.
