Member Assistance Program (MAP)

HIMSS is committed to supporting our members through various life changes. The HIMSS Member Assistance Program (MAP) assists members experiencing financial difficulties. The program provides complimentary registration to various HIMSS events to members who, because of a current financial situation, are not able to attend. 

Events include:

  • HIMSS Health IT Leadership Summit - Rome – September 30th – October 2nd, Rome, Italy
  • HIMSS Health IT Leadership Summit - Middle East – November 15th – 17th, Muscat, Oman
  • HIMSS10: The Annual HIMSS Conference and Exhibition – March 1st – 4th, Atlanta, GA
  • 2010 World of Health IT Conference & Exhibition – March 15th – 18th, Barcelona, Spain

HIMSS has a limited number of scholarships available. Complimentary Registrations will be based on need. Applications must be received at least 45 days prior to the event.  Those chosen to receive the scholarships will be notified by email. 

Applicants must fulfill these minimum requirements:

  • HIMSS member for 3 years or more
  • The applicant MUST be a member in good standing
  • The applicant is requested to submit a 500 word statement, detailing why assistance is needed
  • Previous recipients of the UMAP and/or MAP are ineligible.

HIMSS will provide:

  • Complimentary registration to the event chosen by the member.
