Student e-Mentoring

The Student E-Mentoring Program is a program that mentors HIMSS students, through the guidance of HIMSS members and staff. E-mentors typically provide assistance in choosing a graduate school, gaining internships or volunteer experience in their chosen fields and career guidance. In an e-mentoring relationship, mentors and students correspond via e-mail. It is a terrific option for mentors and students who either live too far from each other or do not have the time for face-to-face meetings.

The program enhances students’ knowledge of industry trends through interaction with executives, managers and technologists working within the industry; enables HIMSS members to serve as professional advisors to students; encourages student participation in professional association activities and enables members to establish relationships with students and faculty and the educational institutions which they represent.
