Enterprise Information Systems
Purpose:
HIMSS leadership believes that healthcare information technology and management systems can increase the effectiveness, safety and quality of patient care. This vision leads directly to the need for electronic health records and clinical information systems throughout the nation's healthcare enterprises. The Enterprise Information Systems Steering Committee leads the Society in working toward the goal of the meaningful use of EHRs in healthcare organizations and physician practices by 2014.
