Answer: The Davies Award is the only national award of its type recognizing excellence in implementation and value derived from HIT. The application process itself is valuable, because it provides an introspective look at what you have in place, and what remains outstanding. Question: JCAHO requires a process for medication reconciliation to be in place as a patient safety goal. Do you have any process examples from Davies recipients?
Answer: A great example is the 2006 Davies Organizational Award recipient, Generations+/Northern Manhattan Health Network, which received a very favorable comment from JCAHO regarding the med recon process they have in place. Read their award winning application (page 22).
