What Are the Users Groups?

The HIMSS Users Group Alliance Program was developed in October 2003 as a means to create a variety of independent communities within HIMSS that help you do your job better. Through the program, HIMSS is collaborating with healthcare IT organizations to provide environments for you to exchange technology-related ideas, challenges, and solutions.

User group programming and content is directed by an independent member-based advisory committee and executed by HIMSS staff. HIMSS’ participation in the Users Group Alliance Program does not constitute an official endorsement of any entity and the information supplied via any users group does not state or reflect the opinion of HIMSS.

Benefits of Users Group Membership

Members have the opportunity to join one or more of HIMSS user groups at no additional cost.  User Groups allow access to expanded features and benefits, such as:

  • Information—regarding the latest technology-related content and its impact;
  • Networking—with professionals who share the same challenges and have new ideas; and
  • Education—in-person educational opportunities to enhance professional growth, as well as audio conferences to learn the latest information.
