JoAnn W. Klinedinst is Vice President, Professional Development, at HIMSS, a global, cause-based, not-for-profit organization focused on better health through information technology (IT). HIMSS leads efforts to optimize health engagements and care outcomes using information technology.
As a member of the HIMSS senior management team since 2006, Klinedinst brings more than 23 years of progressive experience in the health IT and management systems industry to the Society. She is responsible for all aspects of programming for professional development perspectives including annual conference, distance education, virtual conference, webinars, e-seminars, web services, professional certification, career services, continuing education, and HIMSS member awards.
Before this appointment, Ms. Klinedinst served as HIMSS content staff liaison to the enterprise and management engineering/process improvement steering committees, working with volunteers to deliver tools and resources to members.
Klinedinst holds a BS (cum laude) from West Chester University, West Chester, Penn.; she holds a graduate certificate in IS/IT from Villanova University; and she is currently a student in the master’s program in adult education at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Penn.
She holds the CPHIMS designation, Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems; she is a certified project management professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute; and she is a Fellow of HIMSS.
