Position Purpose

Consider joining the talented staff at HIMSS as our Associate Manager, Marketing as we transform health through information technology. The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Marketing management team in effective audience assessment, segmentation and selection to market HIMSS content, programs and events. As the go-to person managing the marketing database and associated systems, this position will drive campaign reporting and analysis. The position is critical in that it greatly impacts Marketing’s ability to be successful in identifying target audiences and communicating effectively with them for maximum engagement. This role’s involvement is both tactical and strategic, ranging from day-to-day involvement with databases to consideration for long-term, company-wide solutions for improved customer intelligence tools.

Primary Accountabilities

  • All duties as assigned to achieve HIMSS goals and objectives.
  • Serve as our internal subject matter expert for direct marketing best practices, and the go-to person for recommendations that will improve marketing performance.
  • Assist in development of new marketing tools including behavioral models, segmentation schemas, etc. to help identify high potential customer segments that merit special marketing attention
  • Assist in the project management of over 400 deliverables a year, including, but not limited to direct mail, eMail, advertising, branding, interactive media, print production, etc.
  • Serve as a marketing information specialist – creating and managing an organizational system (central depository) for all marketing materials such as PowerPoint templates, logos, bios, marketing materials, etc.Perform other related duties as required or assigned that contribute to the effectiveness of the department.
  • Building emails and email templates, including intake of text and graphic assets from stakeholders and building cross-platform, cross-device HTML- and text- based emails ready for sending through the marketing automation and CRM platforms.
  • Own database segmentation, including building targeted audiences based on historical demographic and behavioral data, and helping to define the email touch-points throughout the customer lifecycle, with a specific focus on nurture campaigns, defining email frequency, and optimizing programs for engagement.
  • Program and campaign setup to support email programs, lead scoring, and administrative/operational campaigns from a best practice point-of-view.
  • Support the lead acquisition process through the creation of web forms for landing pages and owning all lead/list imports.
  • Act as the final QA stakeholder for all marketing automation platform activities.
  • Own and support reporting, tracking, and analysis for email and other marketing automation functionalities.
  • A/B test definition and measurement on email campaigns incorporating solid lessons learned from previous roles.
  • Act as the central marketing automation support/ticket owner for internal questions or issues. Escalate and resolve support issues utilize when needed.
  • Coordinate the HIMSS e-mail calendar or recommend new tools to ensure that communication volume is optimal based on organizational objectives.
  • Participate in, and help Marketing optimize overall database strategy, primarily in how business objectives translate into database processes.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned that contribute to the effectiveness of the department.

Required Qualifications

  • BA in marketing or similar field
  • 3+ years experience working in a marketing role or similar position
  • Ability to work with marketing data and information
  • Deep understanding of a variety of marketing promotional techniques
  • Ability to work within a database environment with a solid grasp of relational database theory.
  • Familiarity with databases and e-mail delivery software programs
  • Standard Microsoft-based software fluency (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • Ability to clearly communicate data-based information in a clear, understandable manner
  • Experience with Marketo a plus.
