Position Purpose

HIMSS Analytics is a global healthcare advisor, providing guidance and market intelligence solutions that move the industry forward with insight to enable better health through the use of IT. As a trusted healthcare research and advisory firm, the industry depends on HIMSS Analytics’ resources, benchmarks, predictive models and assessment tools to improve decision making regarding their IT strategic roadmap.

The Associate Market Research primary responsibility is to evaluate, organize, initiate and manage their own data collection efforts across multiple organizations and effectively and efficiently collect data that is required to meet the product deliverable schedules. Collecting this data requires a thorough understanding of the healthcare organization being updated to identify the optimum methodology for obtaining the required information, the people who can provide the updates, and the timeframe in which it has to be completed.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Research each organization to understand key personnel, recent purchases and appropriate time to contact.
  • Generate and maintain contact to assigned organizations via email, phone and mail.
  • Conduct internet based research
  • Work with organizations to identify and obtain data related to relevant purchases as well as future purchasing plans.
  • Develop strategies for those organizations that do not provide data, and apply those to future outreach.
  • Handle the updates of multiple organizations simultaneously while maintaining established department productivity and performance goals.
  • Review received data to ensure completeness and re-establish contact if needed.
  • Analyze, process and upload documents to the database.
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions to help improve existing processes. Assist team members and participate in other projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • An Associate Degree at minimum, bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – the ability to respond and work with a wide range of personality types internal and external to the organization.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to determine effective and efficient strategies to coordinate and accomplish tasks.
  • The ability to create structure to effectively manage priorities and achieve goals.
  • Telephone data collection and/or research experience – This position requires a high comfort level in placing outbound calls and spending considerable percentage of time collecting information over the telephone.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and can creatively find solutions independently.
  • Flexibility of character, comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Goal oriented, and driven to succeed.
