Position Purpose

Consider joining the talented staff at HIMSS as our Digital Designer, Graphics Manager as we transform health through information technology. The purpose of this position is to execute production of web, email and video designs to realize the organization’s vision and bring innovative, creative ideas to life for internal and external clients.  This position will conceptualize designs from provided requirements and maintain design standards set by the Senior Manager, Product UXD. This position will works closely with design, usability, project management, development and marketing teams across all SBUs.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Assists Senior Manager, Product UXD during the design and creative phase for web design projects and assists in project planning and timeline estimation.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Client Service Managers on design requirements, asset collection and design revisions for digital projects including websites, lead collection campaigns, email marketing, etc.
  • Leverage current design and development trends to translate designs and concepts into functional, development-ready prototypes using HTML/CSS/JS.
  • Produce and implement creative assets/designs in a variety of formats and channels ranging from HTML properties, native content, interactive whitepapers, eBooks, infographics and lead generation tools to whiteboard style videos, newsletters, social and custom marketing solutions.
  • Assist development teams in implementation and QA to ensure that design and usability issues are carried out as identified.
  • Partner with user experience designer to provide solutions to usability issues identified through various user-testing initiatives (card sorting, prototype testing, end-user recording sessions, etc.).
  • Continually monitor HIMSS and clients’ digital assets to ensure brand and design standards are maintained

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in design or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of related work experience in development or design.
  • Experience with mid/large scale web development projects targeting large audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.Effective listener.
  • Strong working knowledge of designing/developing responsive email and landing page templates in Marketo.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, JS and Adobe Creative Cloud suite of products.
  • Ability to design and develop responsive websites that adhere to web standards, content accessibility and cross-browser compatibility guidelines.
  • Knowledge of current web technologies, trends and best practices including mobile web design & development.
  • Understanding of SEO optimization and SEM.
  • Strong understanding of media monetization and ad operations.
  • Strong attention to detail, strong drive and ability to meet or exceed deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills – oral and written.
  • Knowledge of PHP, JSON and Drupal preferred.
  • Experience with Google Analytics preferred.
