Position Purpose

Consider joining the talented staff at HIMSS as our Manager, Product Management as we transform health through information technology. The purpose of this position is to will manage key activities associated with ensuring HIMSS Analytics’ product offerings are competitive.  This individual will be a key driver in designing a program and research methodologies for ensuring the HIMSS Analytics’ product suite meets industry needs.   This person is expected to become a product expert across the HIMSS Analytics product portfolio.  This person will be a member of the product management team and be expected to participate in all activities that span the product lifecycle including, but not limited to, development of requirements and pre and post-release testing.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Assist with designing, managing, and prioritizing a product roadmap for the HIMSS Analytics product portfolio that accounts for key industry dynamics.
  • Develop and manage a program for understanding the competitive landscape.
  • Manage and coordinate product feedback/research channels including advisory boards, surveys, and one-on-one interviews.This includes designing and conducting surveys, and reporting on user/client research.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create product positioning statements and pre/post release marketing.
  • Facilitate cross functional teams associated with defining product requirements, software development, testing, marketing, and release planning.
  • Create project communications that report on project timelines and resources to all stakeholders using MS Project or other project planning tools.
  • Support the product management team by collaborating with project stakeholders (App Dev, Quality, Data Collection, Client Services, HA Europe, HA Asia, etc.) to provide process and application testing support that results in effective conversion to live operations for the project deliverables.
  • Perform data analysis using MS Access, SQL Server Express, Crystals Reports or other data query tools to evaluate product/data quality, develop reports and presentations for client presentations and third party collaborations, evaluate product design, report to industry on key trends, etc

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree required; a Master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years in the healthcare IT space demonstrating a solid understanding of key industry dynamics in a product management role.
  • Previous experience working for a vendor organization (software, hardware, or consulting) in the healthcare IT space.
  • Previous experience designing, conducting, and analyzing research in healthcare IT.
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive demeanor, outstanding analytical skills, strong desire to learn, and the ability to achieve results in a complex environment.
  • An understanding of relational databases and strong working knowledge of ACCESS, SQL Server Express, or other querying tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to articulate and sell ideas and concepts.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships and productive teams.Strong personal integrity.
