Position Purpose

Consider joining the talented staff at HIMSS Media as our New Media Producer. Through its suite of market-leading brands, such as Healthcare IT News, Healthcare Finance News, and MobiHealthNews, HIMSS Media delivers news, analysis and must have information to an audience of senior healthcare and technology influencers.  HIMSS Media is also the leading producer of important live events, such as the Privacy & Security Forum, Patient Engagement Summit, Revenue Cycle Solutions Summit and Big Data and Healthcare Analytics Forum.

As our New Media Producer, you will assist with execution of the HIMSS Enterprise’s social media tactics and communications to improve visibility, engage new audiences, and generate inbound site visits and demand for products and services. This includes producing quality content and social media communications, listening to comments and key conversations, building relationships with audiences and influencers; tracking and measuring social media performance, and assisting staff with their social media tactics and communications.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Producing daily quality content and social media communications across multiple distribution channels.
  • Monitoring comments and key conversations, engaging with audience members and influencers on multiple distribution channels.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned that contribute to the effectiveness of the department and to accomplish strategic goals and objectives.
  • Curate relevant, quality content/posts to engage target audiences (e.g. quotes and posts from trusted sources).
  • Interact with audience and social community in real-time through various social networks.
  • Assist with developing and updating social media communication editorial calendars and campaigns.
  • Assist with coordinating social media tactics with editorial, marketing, digital operations.
  • Track and measure the impact of social media communications for events, products and services and reporting audience feedback.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned that contribute to the effectiveness of the department.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in communications, with strong, documented focus in social media communications

  • Proficiency with and strong knowledge of social networking for the professional environment

  • Strong written and communications skills, with emphasis on grammar/spelling excellence

  • Proficiency in social media management and analytics tools

  • Proficiency in social advertising platforms across Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

  • Strong editing and proofreading skills

  • Strong understanding of content marketing tactics

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Customer-focused, with motivating, positive personality
