Position Purpose

Consider joining the talented staff at HIMSS as our Program Manager, Exhibit Sales as we transform health through information technology.  In this position, you will assist in the execution of sales strategies and development of strong client relationships with assigned and new accounts to achieve the revenue goals as defined by the approved budget. This is a hands-on manager position, personally performing complex sales and account management support work and generating new sales as defined. Individual in this position will work closely with assigned sales staff to assist in achievement of fiscal goals.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Manages the processes and activities needed to achieve assigned sales goals for a significant set of products and services across the organization.Assists in formulating standard/routine proposals in conjunction with team members and vendorsManages internal and external resources in order to accomplish team’s revenue goals.Develops and maintains keen understanding of overall product dynamics, market trends, competitor features and consumer rationale.
  • Supports the preparation of revenue forecasts for all product lines; designs new reports and maintains existing sales reports as needed.Develops tracking techniques, reporting formats and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Acts as liaison with clients to complete business development transactions.Develops and manages support of account management and new business portfolio including market analysis and alignment for accounts, product strategy, account targeting strategies as well as financial objectives and measurement.Establishes and maintains on-going client relationships with the various parties to anticipate and resolve potential problems. 
  • Supports Sales staff on execution of strategies as part of overall HIMSS revenue objectives.Supports effective coordination and teamwork between all functional areas.
  • Responsible for selling North American Corporate Memberships with existing North America sales team.Prospects for new members that are not actively engaged with the North American sales team as document in Salesforce.Working with Sales Director to creates sales strategy, maintains an accurate pipeline utilizing Salesforce.Works closely with sales team and Corporate Relations.
  • Manages HIMSS North America vendor marketing – pushes, managing direct mail with marketing and mail-house; creates and executes targeted email campaigns; analyzes data from email campaigns to improve sales efforts.Acts as point of contact for sales team to HIMSS internal departments for all marketing related projects; ensure cohesiveness between departments related to sponsorship deliverables and deadlines.
  • Manages HIMSS Sales presence on multiple HIMSS websites
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Salesforce to participate in training and data management.
  • Organizes and manages HIMSS Annual Conference booth selections by creating and facilitating informational webinars, writing internal and external correspondence, and creating booth selection orders; maintains up to date knowledge of and utilizes exhibition software (A2Z).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in sales support and account management
  • Five (5) or more years of successful and progressive experience in sales support and account management with experience in trade show or event sales preferred.
