Position Purpose

Consider joining the talented staff at HIMSS Analytics as our Project Manager.  HIMSS Analytics is a global healthcare advisor, providing guidance and market intelligence solutions that move the industry forward with insight to enable better health through the use of IT.  As a trusted healthcare research and advisory firm, the industry depends on HIMSS Analytics’ resources, benchmarks, predictive models and assessment tools to improve decision making regarding their IT strategic roadmap.

As our project manager you will be responsible for project administration and support of the implementation, launch, and management of HIMSS Analytics products and service offerings, under the direction of the VP of Operations and Solutions.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Manages requirements for all project-related functions, monitors project progress and ensures adherence to project goals, budget, and timelines.
  • Partners with senior-level staff to manage required resources and project deliverables.
  • Creates and maintains project documentation, including project plans, cost estimates, timelines, functional specifications, statements of work, change orders, testing/QA plans, and training documents.
  • Provides data on feasibility, cost, scheduling, capabilities, resource availability, and contractual obligations related to project development.
  • Identifies project risks, and facilities the development and implementation of risk mitigation plans.
  • Participates in new project development by working and communicating effectively with individual team members.
  • Schedules and oversees project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of project goals, expectations, and timelines.
  • Implements new methodologies, processes and procedures that support HIMSS Analytics' long-term and short-term business development goals.
  • Competent knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to HIMSS Analytics clients.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 - 3 years project management experience. Needs a deep understanding of how to drive results through strategic project management.
  • Strong understanding of software development
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to communicate with a varied group of vendors and stakeholders globally
  • Preferred experience with collaboration and project management tools: Microsoft Project, Basecamp, etc.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Background or knowledge in information systems and technology is an asset
  • Ability to conduct successful product demonstrations, Self-starter who takes initiative and can apply problem solving, deductive reasoning, critical thinking and creativity to derive sound solutions.
