HIMSS Submits Board of Directors-approved Comments on Meaningful Use Definition

Pennsylvania General Assembly Adopts Resolution on State Advocacy Day

6/24/2009 - Nearly 130 healthcare providers, payers and information technology (IT) professionals gathered in Harrisburg on May 5 to meet with members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly to raise awareness of how information technology is helping healthcare providers deliver better care, improve health outcomes and lower costs for Pennsylvanians. HIE Dramatically Reduces Processing Time for SSA Patients

6/24/2009 - Using Wellogic’s Health Information Exchange (HIE), the Social Security Administration (SSA) has reduced the amount of time and effort to prepare, receive, and process patient medical records supporting disability claims from months to days. Read more

HIMSS Members Convene Healthcare Discussions across the Country

HIMSS members conducted community discussions on healthcare reform and issued their recommendations to the Obama-Biden Transition Team.  According to the Transition Team, approximately 4,300 Americans hosted meetings.  Meetings conducted by HIMSS members – one percent of the total – will also be held throughout the year.
