HIE Public Comment Workgroup

Purpose:
This workgroup is open to all HIMSS members who have an interest in participating in HIMSS public comment periods and other industry-related activities focused around HIE content. A diverse cross-disciplinary group of volunteers representing the HIMSS HIE content area is key in supporting the HIMSS objective of being a leading industry resource in HIT and HIE. Volunteers in this workgroup will work with the HIMSS HIE content area to solicit and provide feedback on legislation and regulations impacting HIE.

HIMSS/AHIMA HIE Staffing Model Environmental Scan Joint Workgroup

Purpose:
HIMSS and AHIMA members seeking employment in health information exchange settings are conducting job searches by seeking out available positions that appear to match their traditional job skill sets and past experiences. Through the analysis of current and planned HIE staffing models, this project seeks to provide a clear understanding of the professional skill sets and experience critical to HIE organizational success. The workgroup will seek to identify HIE staffing models in the current environment, emerging trends in HIE staffing models, and required skill sets. The findings of this study will be delivered in the form of a co-authored report published in JHIM and AHIMA.
