Purpose
The Outstanding SIG Member Award is presented to a member who has made significant, and commendable contributions to the SIG.

Eligibility
Candidates must be a member in good standing. A SIG may nominate one of their members or their Chair by outlining the specific contributions the nominee has made, including examples of their having:

  • Contributed as a volunteer in the advancement of HIMSS goals and objectives
  • Actively supported SIGs mission, objectives, and goals

Award Frequency and Timing
The Outstanding SIG Member Award may be given once a year.

Criteria
The Outstanding SIG Member Award may be awarded for a single exceptional contribution as a SIG Member or for a sustained contribution as a SIG Member.

The Outstanding SIG Member Award consists of:

  • Symbol of Recognition
  • Publication of information in an official HIMSS publication
