Financial Systems

Financial Systems is a key and dynamic area for today’s healthcare organizations. HIMSS focus in this area is primarily with financial services and systems, administrative transactions, related technologies and emerging trends such as medical banking. Additional focus is on the integration and interoperability of these systems with clinical systems and other e-commerce systems. HIMSS is embarking on this initiative to continue the development of a community within its membership focused on the financial services and related technology aspects of healthcare delivery – benefiting both our individual and corporate members and spanning various stakeholders including clearing houses, software vendors, providers, health plans, financial institutions, and other e-commerce players. This area allows HIMSS to connect the HIMSS clinical and financial worlds together which will facilitate integration and interoperability as well as continue support of related advocacy efforts.
