The HIMSS Innovation Community and Healthcare Cybersecurity Community invite you to explore cyber threats and the ever growing concern to healthcare organizations, be it ransomware attacks reported by local hospitals or global cyber campaigns like WannaCry. Among newer technologies needed to improve its cybersecurty posture is the use of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). In this session we will review the state of the threat landscape as well as how ML and AI are being used in cybersecurity to combat today's sophisticated and targeted attacks.

Learning Objectives:

  • Introduction to today's cyber threats and risks to healthcare businesses.
  • Understand the basic concepts of ML/AI.
  • Review applications of ML and AI in healthcare, including their use in cybersecurity.
  • Demonstrate some examples on actual uses and benefits of ML and AI in cybersecurity.
