Consolidated CDA (C-CDA) outlines twelve common clinical document types that can be leveraged for information exchange in different care settings and for different encounter types. When should each C-CDA clinical document type be leveraged? What sections are used in C-CDA clinical documents and how do they differ from a Continuity of Care Document (CCD)? This Roundtable will continue the CDA education provided in February. It will describe the twelve C-CDA document types and explain their purpose and intended use. Speakers will illustrate the storytelling power of these documents and advance your understanding of their content as more than just a set of required and optional sections. Panelists will show how new CDA rendering options are revealing the storytelling value of C-CDA documents and increasing their relevance and pertinence in clinical settings.
Following this roundtable, attendees will:
- Differentiate between the 12 C-CDA document types and understand the intended purpose of use for each.
- Recognize the value of establishing a meaningful order for rendering sections within different types of C-CDA documents.
- Apply lessons learned to develop new CDA rendering options that improve the value of documents exchanged in patient care.
