As the first of a two-part series, this second session will introduce the attendee to the various components of the implementation development life cycle in a healthcare setting by focusing on those concepts required from initial inception of an idea through implementation.
1) Identify the components of systems analysis and design
2) Describe the importance of a valid design plan to support the goals of the organization
3) Articulate the importance of sound methodologies to support the testing, design, and implementation of applications
Ms. Bowen is a Health Information Technology professional with broad experience in clinical and financial systems. She is also an educator who has developed curriculum and training that facilitates the use of technology that has the potential to improve clinical and financial outcomes in healthcare. Ms. Bowen’s experience includes various roles at Siemens Health Services in Business and Product Line Management. She is also an Adjunct Professor at Camden Community College and has successfully taught courses developed by Office of the National Coordinator as part of national initiative to train students for entry into technical positions related to EMR adoption.
Ms. Bowen has an MBA with a concentration in Health Administration. She holds credentials in Health Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS), and Healthcare Quality (CPHQ). She is also a certified instructor who teaches the CPHIMS Review Course and serves as an Editor for AHIMA’s online journal, Perspectives In Healthcare Information.
