This final session will feature a discussion on the importance of the many administrative aspects of health IT from the perspective of protecting health information to ensuring that the leadership and management functions of the healthcare setting are identified and understood.

Ms. Bowen is a Health Information Technology professional with broad experience in clinical and financial systems. She is also an educator who has developed curriculum and training that facilitates the use of technology that has the potential to improve clinical and financial outcomes in healthcare. Ms. Bowen’s experience includes various roles at Siemens Health Services in Business and Product Line Management. She is also an Adjunct Professor at Camden Community College and has successfully taught courses developed by Office of the National Coordinator as part of national initiative to train students for entry into technical positions related to EMR adoption.
Ms. Bowen has an MBA with a concentration in Health Administration. She holds credentials in Health Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS), and Healthcare Quality (CPHQ). She is also a certified instructor who teaches the CPHIMS Review Course and serves as an Editor for AHIMA’s online journal, Perspectives In Healthcare Information.
