Join the Heart of America Chapter of HIMSS to celebrate Children’s Mercy Kansas City as the recipient of the 2017 Microsoft Health Innovation Award for Cardiac High Acuity Monitoring Program (CHAMP). CHAMP is an example of telemedicine that provides results, addressing the nearly 2,000 babies who are born each year with congenital heart disease consisting of a single ventricle. CHAMP combines traditional single-ventricle home monitoring--triage services provided to highly fragile infants at home by nurse coordinators--and an innovative new app developed by the Ward Family Heart Center team at Children’s Mercy.
