Identifying Solutions for Nurses’ Health IT Pain Points

Nurses experience critical health IT "pain points" but are less vocal about them. This project by the HIMSS UX Committee/Community with HIMSS NI raises national awareness about HIT usability pain points specific to the 3.2 million nurses in North America and offers solutions for these issues. Vivid case studies/stories submitted by nurses/informaticists are presented. Solutions are discussed across individual, organizational and national levels. Presented by Nancy Staggers, PhD, RN, FAAN, Entrepreneur & Professor, Summit Health Informatics & University of Utah and Ellen Makar, MSN, RN-BC, CCM, CPHIMS,CENP, Senior Research Scientist Battelle.  Moderated by Toria Shaw, MSW, HIMSS TIGER Staff Liaison, Manager of Clinical Informatics.
