ONC recently dialed back the rigors of its EHR certification attestation requirements in a move to put greater focus on interoperability. While some cite the impact to patient safety, standards have afforded safeguards to protect patients from harm, giving providers actionable information at the point of care. In this session, we will examine the impact and opportunity for three NCPDP standards to move the needle on health outcomes – from wellness and prevention to chronic/specialty care and our national opioid epidemic.
- Identify two NCPDP standards that can be used to detect potential fraud/abuse in the opioid epidemic
- Describe two patient safety use cases for the real-time benefit check standard
- Illustrate the interoperable flow of data within providers’ practice workflows
