This webinar presents a discussion of Nursing Informatics - from the first nursing informaticist to the informaticists of today. The presentation includes current roles for those in NI, the factors contributing to the growth of the nursing informatics specialty and the future of nursing informatics in today's healthcare systems that use more and more technology.  The presenters (who are the first authors of the presentation) will identify the benefits that a nursing informaticist brings to a healthcare system.  Data from the current NI's will be presented, from the numbers of NI's to their average salaries.

  2. Identify various practice roles and areas for the Nursing Informaticist's practice
  3. Understand the informatics nurses' use of the nursing process
  4. List the Certifications applicable to NI
