Healthcare providers experience a number of efficiencies in workflow from their health information technology. Clinical information systems reduce paperwork, expedite coordination of care, and reduce unnecessary tests and procedures for consumers around the world. While most CIOs can easily point out the benefits of health IT, it is not always so easy for them to envision a clear path to a well architected implementation, or to quantify the value that their systems deliver.
In 2012 HIMSS Analytics launched the Outpatient EMR Adoption model (previously called the Ambulatory EMR Adoption Model) as a tool to monitor and measure EMR adoption in outpatient care settings. It was designed to help healthcare providers focus on key IT systems that need to be implemented for achieving higher levels of access, quality, efficiency and safety.
Sandra Vance, Senior Director of the Healthcare Advisory Services Group for HIMSS Analytics, will present a free webinar to help outpatient provider organization administrators, CIOs, and clinicians learn about the O-EMRAM, obtaining a baseline score, and developing a plan of action to:
- Start meeting application requirements and become operational stage by stage, working toward the final level, Stage 7
- Benchmark progress with other outpatient facilities
- Align IT initiatives with overall business strategy and shape strategy for IT investments
- Map progress in meeting regulatory requirements that impact reimbursement
An open question-and-answer session will follow the presentation so attendees can raise issues specific to their own organizations.
