The institute was created thanks to a generous donation from Sheldon I. Dorenfest, President and CEO of the The Dorenfest Group in Chicago, Illinois. The Dorenfest Institute also maintains a database (acquired by HIMSS Analytics) that provides valuable data in healthcare IT.
