The Dorenfest Complete Integrated HEALTHCARE DELIVERY SYSTEM PLUS (IHDS+) DATABASE™ and Library

The Dorenfest Institute provides detailed historical data about information technology (IT) use in hospitals and integrated healthcare delivery networks.  The data includes the entire library of Dorenfest 3000+ Databases™ and Dorenfest Integrated Healthcare Delivery System Databases™ for the period 1986 through 2004. Also, many resources on IT use in the healthcare industry are included in the library (see list below).  This information is available at no charge to universities, students under university license, U.S. governments (local, state and federal), and governments of other countries that will be using the data for research purposes. Description of Databases
The Dorenfest Complete Integrated HEALTHCARE DELIVERY SYSTEM PLUS (IHDS+) DATABASE™ is a market intelligence tool that has profiled Hospital and Integrated Delivery System IT efforts from 1986 to 2003. From 1986 to 1995, Sheldon I. Dorenfest & Associates, Ltd. tracked demographic and information systems data for all non-federal acute care facilities with 100 beds or more in THE DORENFEST 3000+ DATABASE™.

In 1998, THE FIRST DORENFEST COMPLETE IHDS+ DATABASE™, which included all integrated healthcare delivery systems (IHDSs) that own at least one short term, acute care, non-federal hospital with at least 100 beds, was published. This product contains 1,467 IHDSs and data on over 32,000 facilities. The database provides a comprehensive picture of healthcare delivery in the United States. This was followed by updated versions in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003 (respectively, the SECOND, THIRD, FOURTH, FIFTH, and SIXTH DORENFEST COMPLETE IHDS+ DATABASE™). It has recently been updated with 2004 data from the HIMSS AnalyticsTM Database, through a donation from The Dorenfest Institute.

Information in the database includes:
