The HIMSS Latino Community’s mission is to promote and advance the promise of Health IT delivery in the Latino community.
Join Latino professionals, providers and vendors as we share knowledge and resources to deliver state-of-the art healthcare technology solutions to the entire Latino community.
We focus on creating a collaborative dialogue between the HIMSS Latino Community and leaders in healthcare, IT and government to help advance and improve healthcare delivery within the Latino community in the U.S. and Latin America. Our goal is to ensure that Latino professionals, providers and vendors gain the necessary resources to deliver state-of-the art healthcare technology solutions to the entire Latino community.
Expanding HIMSS outreach into diverse communities is part of the Society's strategic plan. In 2010, HIMSS established a new HIMSS Latino Community to focus on the Health IT needs of a rapidly growing Hispanic/ Latino market and what is now the nation's largest minority population. Estimated at 16% today, by the year 2050, 30% of the U.S. population is projected to be Hispanic/ Latino.
