HIMSS and ASHHRA Collaborate to Advance Health IT Training

To support both job seekers and employers, HIMSS and the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA) will share links, support co-hosted Emerging Professionals Masters Class webinars and other resources such as white papers on the website of each organization.

The combination of tools, resources, and educational content provided by information technology and human resources will strengthen the membership benefits offered by both ASHHRA and HIMSS.

The American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA) of the American Hospital Association (AHA)is the nation’s only membership organization exclusively dedicated to meeting the professional needs of human resources leaders in health care.

Bio District New OrleansHIMSS and BioDistrict New Orleans Collaborate on Career Training

To advance workforce health IT initiatives, which are anticipated to grow in the next several years in New Orleans, HIMSS and BioDistrict New Orleans will collaborate to create education, career support and online initiatives before and during the 2013 Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition, which will be held in New Orleans on March 3-7, 2013.

HIMSS will work with BioDistrict to provide career development resources, through white papers, webinars and other online and career-supporting tools such as the HIMSS JobMine® job listings, online mentoring and an emerging professionals community. Various HIMSS online tools for current, new and transitioning professionals who are interested in a career in health IT will also be available.

At HIMSS13, BioDistrict will be part of the conference Career Services Institute, a full-day program on Tuesday, March 4, 2013, that will feature a nationally-recognized career coach and will support networking opportunities for all participants.

BioDistrict New Orleans is a 1,500-acre district spanning the Downtown and Mid-City areas of New Orleans and focusing on the biosciences industry in New Orleans that will provide world class biosciences research and development; local, regional and global healthcare delivery; and stable, high-paying jobs for professionals, managers and workers representing a wide range of skills.
