ICD-9 to ICD-10 Conversion

BREAKING NEWS: President signs bill delaying ICD-10 until at least October 1, 2015.

On Tuesday, April 1, 2014, President Obama signed into law HR 4302 which contained language prohibiting CMS from implementing the transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10 any earlier than October 1, 2015.

It is unclear how the language of the bill will impact industry efforts to prepare for the transition. HIMSS is watching this dialogue closely and remains committed to ensuring our members have the tools and resources they need to comply with the law regardless of its implementation date.
