As the industry continues its shift toward value-based care, quality measures have taken on an increasing role in reimbursement, process improvement and care delivery. However, reporting requirements have added administrative burdens to hospitals and clinicians to capture, aggregate and report these measures. Consolidated CDA (C-CDA) has the potential to provide clinicians with valuable information needed to capture quality measures and improve delivery of care. This Roundtable reviews the standards landscape for electronic clinical quality measures (eCQM), explores the use of C-CDA documents for eCQM reporting, discusses data quality barriers to successful reporting and examines how quality measures can improve the patient’s health story.
