Enterprise-Wide Population Management for Pay for Performance: A Davies Story

The HIMSS Davies Award of Excellence program recognizes hospitals, ambulatory practices, and community health organizations that have demonstrated sustainable improvement in quality outcomes through the utilization of electronic health records and health information technology. Davies winners must also demonstrate return on investment. This site shares the case studies of Davies winners that have achieved improved quality outcomes and leveraged quality reporting to receive pay for performance incentive payments.

  • 2013 Davies Ambulatory Award Winner MedPed's of Laurel, MD has leveraged their EHR-enabled Patient Centered Medical Home model of care delivery to earn just over $950,000 of pay for performance incentive payments from partners like CareFirst (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Maryland), Aetna, Amerigroup, and Cigna.
