The United States Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration (ITA) is organizing an executive-led Healthcare Business Development Mission to China from October 16-21, 2016. The mission will be led by Deputy Secretary Bruce Andrews and The United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Deputy Secretary Mary Wakefield. The deadline for companies to apply to this mission is Friday, July 15.
The mission offers an unprecedented opportunity for U.S. healthcare companies as HHS does not normally participate in trade missions, but their participation increases the attention from Chinese government officials as they are very protocol conscious, and HHS is the counterpart to Chinese health ministries. For companies who have either just entered the China market or are planning to enter China, making connections with Chinese government decision makers is critical to navigating the complicated environment and regulatory requirements.
