Thought leaders from the nation's most renowned and progressive healthcare organizations will come together during National Health IT Week (NHIT Week) 2017, a nationwide awareness week focused on the value of health IT. Scheduled for Oct. 2-6, the week will feature regional events across the country, a virtual march, social media activity, including #IHeartHIT stories, and an awards reception in Washington, D.C. honoring federal, congressional and state officials.
HIMSS NHIT Week Events
NHIT Week will kick off in Chicago with the HIMSS Pop Health Forum on Monday, Oct. 2. On Tuesday, Oct. 3, the Louisiana Chapter of HIMSS will host former National Coordinators Karen DeSalvo, MD, and Vindell Washington, MD. The week’s activities will then direct to Washington, DC, on Oct. 4, where HIMSS and other dedicated thought leaders and policy professionals will celebrate recipients of the HIMSS Health IT Leadership Awards — recognizing federal, state and congressional officials who have made significant contributions to the advancement of health IT in 2017.
