The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has created a new website as a clearinghouse for all information relevant to the implementation of the Quality Payment Program (QPP). The website is available at: qpp.cms.gov. The CMS site includes information about the two tracks for the program—Advanced Alternative Payment Models (APMs) or the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS)—as well as education and tools that provide links to past webinars and other information sources. There is also the opportunity to explore the measures behind the requirements of MIPS and APMs on the site.
HIMSS also has its Quality Payment Program/MACRA Resource Center with more information about the Final Regulation and a path forward for clinicians.
The Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) and the Quality Payment Program’s purpose is to provide new tools and resources to help eligible clinicians give their patients the best possible care. They can choose how they want to participate based on their practice size, specialty, location, or patient population.
