In 2016, the HIMSS Board of Directors reviewed and approved the HIMSS North America Cybersecurity Call to Action. Now is the time that we all band together and help move healthcare cybersecurity forward. We want to make your voice heard in the healthcare industry.
We are calling all healthcare chief information security officers and senior cybersecurity and information technology leaders to show your active support of our HIMSS North America Cybersecurity Call to Action.
HIMSS would like to document and highlight the work that many health care organizations are doing to implement these principles, and compel others in joining this effort. We are looking for healthcare leaders who are planning or actively supporting one or more of the principles of the cybersecurity call to action by:
• Adopting a healthcare privacy and cybersecurity framework for your organization, or by supporting others to do the same, such as business partners, business associates, and others.
• Being supportive of HHS to have a CISO who will help our healthcare sector improve its security posture through collaboration and information sharing.
• Addressing the shortage of qualified healthcare cybersecurity professionals through proactive recruiting, employment, and retention of such individuals—and, at the same time, facilitating the professional growth and education of such individuals.
• Supporting the principles set forth in the HIMSS North America Cybersecurity Call to Action.
If you are interested in sharing your story with us and supporting the HIMSS North America Cybersecurity Call to Action, please email Lee Kim with the completed form for the Call to Action. We would love to hear from you. Additional information on the HIMSS North America Cybersecurity Call to Action may be found on our blog.
