Advocate Health saved about 9.1 million dollars by reducing overuse of blood products. They went from actual spending of $26.5 million in 2011 to $17.4 million in 2016. For Advocate Health's Level 1 trauma center, there was a 47% decrease of RBC utilization and a 59% decrease in RBC utilization for non-level I trauma center.

Advocate Health ended 2015 with $2.24 million dollars in transcription costs; a 50% reduction from the amount estimated. As of August 2017, the annual transcription cost is projected to be $1.8 million dollars.

Within their electronic medical record (EMR), Advocate Health Care addressed ordering habits that were no longer consistent with the most recent evidence. They saw a decline in repeat testing type such as once a day (daily lab) and once a stay (A1C and Lipase).
