HIMSS Government Relations Roundtable

HIMSS Government Relations Roundtable is a monthly public policy roundtable comprised of volunteers who represent the nearly sixty HIMSS Diamond Corporate Members. The mission statement of the Government Relations Roundtable is to:

  • Harness the extensive knowledge and expertise of our 60 Diamond Corporate members to promote improvements and investments within our healthcare technology domain.
  • Provide counsel from the corporate member perspective to the HIMSS Public Policy Committee to be the recognized source of information and provide access to key decision makers.

To achieve these goals, the Government Relations Roundtable hosts monthly luncheon and roundtable discussions where members of the roundtable network, receive updates from Congressional and Federal Regulatory Agency staff on the latest health information technology policy initiatives, and discuss changes in the health IT policy landscape and what those changes mean for industry.

The Government Relations Roundtable is active in all government relations activities, to include providing input to HIMSS responses to legislation and proposed federal regulations; assisting the planning and development of the National Health IT Week agenda and the HIMSS Public Policy Forum; coordinating site visits for Congressional Staff, and engaging in the Project Public Health IT-CDC education track at HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition.

The Government Relations Roundtable is led by Chairperson Steve Erd, Director, Government Solutions, Philips; and Leigh Burchell, Vice President, Government Affairs, Allscripts.

For more information on how to participate in the Government Relations Roundtable, please contact Stephanie Tsoucalas, Coordinator for Government Relations, at stsoucalas@himss.org or 703-562-8824.
