HIMSS Government Relations Roundtable is a monthly public policy roundtable comprised of volunteers who represent the nearly sixty HIMSS Diamond Corporate Members. The mission statement of the Government Relations Roundtable is to:
To achieve these goals, the Government Relations Roundtable hosts monthly luncheon and roundtable discussions where members of the roundtable network, receive updates from Congressional and Federal Regulatory Agency staff on the latest health information technology policy initiatives, and discuss changes in the health IT policy landscape and what those changes mean for industry.

The Government Relations Roundtable is active in all government relations activities, to include providing input to HIMSS responses to legislation and proposed federal regulations; assisting the planning and development of the National Health IT Week agenda and the HIMSS Public Policy Forum; coordinating site visits for Congressional Staff, and engaging in the Project Public Health IT-CDC education track at HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition.
The Government Relations Roundtable is led by Chairperson Steve Erd, Account Manager, Northrop Grumman Information Systems; and Leigh Burchell, Vice President, Government Affairs, Allscripts.
