HIMSS submitted comments to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) in response to the ONC Health IT Certification Program: Enhanced Oversight and Accountability Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM).

HIMSS Joins PCHA in Letter on FDA Draft Guidance
In the letter HIMSS and PCHA noted that appropriate interoperability is critical to ensuring the safety and effectiveness of medical devices used in systems, and see this Draft Guidance as a positive step forward in that regard.

CMS Finalizes Quality Measure Development Plan
CMS aims to drive improvement in our national health care system through the use of quality measures and periodic assessment of the impact of such measurement.

Senators Release Draft Legislation to "Reboot" Meaningful Use Program
The draft bill authored by Senators John Thune (R-SD), Lamar Alexander (R-TN), Mike Enzi (R-WY), Pat Roberts (R-KS), Richard Burr (R-NC), and Bill Cassidy (R-LA), would create a 90-day meaningful use reporting period, remove the program’s all-or-nothing approach and create expanded hardship exemptions in 2016.

Proposed Telemedicine Law in Arkansas
The Arkansas State Medical Board proposed new regulations on telemedicine that would encourage doctors to see patients without an initial in-person visit.
