Ten-Minute MACRA: What You Need To Know About the Proposed Rule
The Medicare Access & CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) proposed rule represents a fundamental change in the way health care is paid for and is aimed at establishing the infrastructure for value-based reimbursement. These ten-minute, special report STEPS to Value episodes will provide high-level overviews for the key areas of the proposed rule and information on how you can participate in the HIMSS commenting process. Listen to two episodes in this special series.
- Ten-Minute MACRA- What’s MACRA?This episode reviews the structure of the proposed rule, including its Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) component & its Alternative Payment Models (APM) component. We will also discuss the current programs rolled into the new regulation, and implications in the proposed rule for hospitals as well as clinicians.
