The bill would require studies from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Government Accountability Office (GAO) that examine the use of technology-enabled collaborative learning and capacity building models to improve healthcare delivery.

Senate Appropriations Committee Approves Bipartisan Labor-HHS Appropriations Bill
The bill significantly increases funding for prescription drug monitoring programs which will assist in efforts to combat the opioid crisis.

Medicare Releases ACO Shared Savings Program Final Rule
Improvements in the program will provide opportunities to better align with physicians in driving the quality of care and is designed to help physicians prepare for the new Quality Payment Program in MACRA.

Ten-Minute MACRA: What You Need To Know About the Proposed Rule

The Medicare Access & CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) proposed rule represents a fundamental change in the way health care is paid for and is aimed at establishing the infrastructure for value-based reimbursement. These ten-minute, special report STEPS to Value episodes will provide high-level overviews for the key areas of the proposed rule and information on how you can participate in the HIMSS commenting process. Listen to two episodes in this special series.

  • *NEW* Ten-Minute MACRA- The Impact of Protecting Patient Health Information: There are a number of ways through which the protection of patient health information can impact the ability for a clinician to receive reimbursement under the regulations included in the MACRA NPRM.
