HIMSS Champions Health IT During the Republican National Convention
As part of HIMSS's role as convener and educator, the Society co-hosted two discussions,"Game Changing Innovation: Health IT as a Catalyst for Healthcare Transformation" in Cleveland and Philadelphia in July to provide non-partisan education to delegates, healthcare professionals, media and the general public. In Cleveland, HIMSS collaborated with the other tenants of the Global Center for Health Innovation to sponsor an education panel. TIGER's new informatics definitions document
TIGER (Technology Informatics Guiding Education Reform) compiles interprofessional informatics to collaboratively define and document core health informatics terminology. This provide context to the global TIGER interprofessional, interdisciplinary community when terms are referred to on HIMSS.org, official documents and within the TIGER Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). HIMSS Longitudinal Gender Compensation Assessment
Leveraging nine years of data from the biennial HIMSS Compensation survey reveals that on average, female health IT workers in the United States have consistently been paid less than their male peers. The magnitude of pay disparities tend to vary under select conditions suggesting compensation equity is possible. This report summarizes the general directional findings of gender disparity in health IT. Learn more.
