A new international malware has surfaced and it has affected companies and other entities across the critical infrastructure sectors, including in the healthcare sector (covered entities and business associates alike). Information systems across Europe, in the United States, Europe, and elsewhere have reportedly been infected. HIMSS just published the June 2017 issue (Vol. 12) of the HIMSS Healthcare & Cross-Sector Cybersecurity Report. Highlights from this report include the following Petya/NotPetya/Expetr wiper, WannaCry ransomworm, .LNK malware, mouse hover malware, Stack Clash Unix vulnerability, and zero day (0 day) advisories.
