HIMSS Names Harold “Hal” Wolf III as New President/Chief Executive Officer
HIMSS has announced the appointment of Harold “Hal” Wolf III as its new president and CEO, starting September 2017.

HIMSS Healthcare & Cross-Sector Cybersecurity Report for July 2017
HIMSS just published the July 2017 issue (Vol. 13) of the HIMSS Healthcare & Cross-Sector Cybersecurity Report. Highlights from this report include the following: new SMB vulnerability (0 day), Win32/Industroyer malware, IoT ransomware attack, API security checklist, and upcoming Adobe Flash deprecation. This report may be freely accessed at www.himss.org/cyberreport. The next report will be the July 2017 issue. Reports are published on a monthly basis. Protecting Your Stakeholder’s Privacy With Information Sharing
In a recent blog post, Lee Kim, director, privacy and security, healthcare information systems, HIMSS North America, states thatinformation sharing is vital to the security and safety of the sector, and stakeholders within the sector.
Kim says Information sharing is useful for all types of incidents and threats. Whether there is a threat of something actually occurring or an incident has actually occurred, both threats and incidents have indicators to help determine what has occurred (in the case of an incident) or what may occur (in the case of a threat).
