This blog examines what you need to know about the change in the cost performance category weight in the MIPS score. This may be the most important lesson to learn from this program: just ‘getting through’ MIPS should not be your end game.

In Case you Missed It…  Connecting the Dots: The (Bipartisan) Approach to Care Delivery Reform - Open Data, Health IT, and Value-Based Payment
Speaker Aneesh Chopra shares views on consumers taking more active roles in navigating the health care delivery system, empowered with greater access to their own data and a growing number of tools to make better decisions at each step of their care journey. Learn about efforts to open up data across EHRs, payers, and the government to foster a growing ecosystem of tech-enabled services that are tackling waste and boosting care quality, and how health care organizations can build the necessary foundation for organizing, enriching and (securely) sharing patient health data even amidst this period of policy uncertainty.

New C&BI Blog: Deeper Analytics Insight through Shared Data    At the end of the day, healthcare is about the patient, the member, the person – not market share, strategic advantage or intellectual property. Technical, financial, procedural and cultural barriers to interoperability all need to be addressed throughout the healthcare industry to build momentum and make open data sharing the norm. Those of us who are firm supporters of data sharing owe it to the industry to socialize the benefits and advocate a culture of proactive change.
