Deadline Nears for Speaking Proposals: Rev Cycle, Cloud, Machine Learning, Digital Health, and Patient Engagement HIMSS is accepting speaking proposals for five one-day events on March 5 as part of the Annual Conference. The deadline to submit a proposal is Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 5 PM EST. Submissions are limited to healthcare payer and provider organizations, government and academic institutions, non-profit associations and think tanks. HIMSS Healthcare & Cross-Sector Cybersecurity Report for September 2017 HIMSS just published the Sept. issue (Vol. 15) of the HIMSS Healthcare & Cross-Sector Cybersecurity Report. Highlights from this report include information on web and mobile technology vulnerabilities and information on cybercrime trends. Call for Proposals Poster Presentations for HIMSS18 is Now Open! HIMSS invites you to submit a proposal to present a poster at the 2018 Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada. The conference will be held Monday, March 5, 2018 - Friday, March 9, 2018. If your poster is selected, it will be displayed in tandem with the HIMSS18 Career Fair on Wednesday, March 7 from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm at the Wynn Las Vegas. Poster presenters will be required to attend the Career Fair during a designated time to participate in a question and answer session regarding the poster being presented. Blog: Part 1: Navigating the Blockchain Landscape – Opportunities in Digital Health HIMSS has recently established a work group to examine blockchain distributed ledger technology and its potential implications for the healthcare information and technology community. Blog: Creating a Glide Path to Interoperability – HIMSS Releases a Call to Action This blog post outlines the newly released HIMSS Interoperability Call to Action, which contains succinct guidance on what must happen now to achieve better health, better care and lower cost through the best use of electronic health information. Digital Health Helped Davies Enterprise Award Winner: Children’s National Health System Improve Pediatric Care As a result of Children’s National Health System demonstration of excellence through their efforts to increase patient engagement and improve patient outcomes, the organization has been selected as a 2017 HIMSS Davies Enterprise Award recipient.
