CMS Releases MACRA Proposed Rule
The proposed rule provides details on the new Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) for MIPS eligible clinicians by consolidating components of three existing programs: the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS); Physician Value-Based Payment Modifier (VM); and, the Medicare Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program for Eligible Professionals (EPs) or groups under the physician fee schedule.

ONC Accepting Nominations for Two New Task Forces
Nominations are being accepted for two new task forces formed under the ONC Health IT Policy and Standards Committees; the Consumer Task Force and the MACRA/MIPS Task Force.

New Medicaid Rule Impacts States
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published their final rule encouraging states to support the adoption of certified health information technology that enables interoperability across providers and supports streamlined care coordination for enrollees.

HHS Releases Proposed Rule on the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA)
On Wednesday, April 27, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the MACRA proposed rule. HIMSS staff is in the process of analyzing the MACRA rule, including the new Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and the alternative payment models (APMs) programs....
