Congressional Affairs

Congress is on recess for the Midterm Elections until mid-November.  We anticipate the Senate will return on November 12th and the House will return on November 14th to conduct legislative business in the Lame Duck Session.

You can continue to reach out to your elected officials to ask for support on H.R. 5481 and the HIMSS Congressional Asks.  Make sure to visit the HIMSS Legislative Action Center to weigh-in and help the HIMSS message to be heard.

HIMSS joins organizations supporting Expanding Telehealth Services as part of 21st Century Cures Initiative
HIMSS Policy Summit was a great success. HIMSS members and staff visited more than 138 Congressional offices.


Show Your Support - HR 5481, “Flexibility in Health IT Reporting Act”
Congresswoman Ellmers introduced the Flex-IT Act which will allow for providers to report on their meaningful use compliance in 2015 through a three-month reporting period as opposed to a full year.
